If the Pharaoh Ramesses II was lost at sea or was killed by such, he would hardly be on display in Cairo museum, and if it was him, then he was a very old man when chasing the Jews, hardly likely. Then there is the timeline, this fare from adds up. But because Ramesses II was the great king he was, the name Ramesses became a very loved name, and many pharaohs would be called that.

Your not understanding the time line. no matter how you put it, it WAS NOT Ramesses II - Please go to a library and ask for a book about ancient Egypt pharaohs.

One thing I saw wrong here was the Pharoah wasnt killed or swallowed up by the sea. Since he was Moses's "Brother" God let him live but his soldiers were killed. Or thats at least how I read it. :P

To the part about the pharaoh in the bible being an earlier pharaoh. I would have to say that this cannot be, again merely because of facts. There was only one other pharaoh named Ramesses, namely Ramesses I who was the grandfather of Ramesses II. Ramesses I only ruled for around two years 1293 - 1291 B.C. And he did not really have any affect upon history, And yet he was the key Gen for the great pharaohs to come. But he could not be the Pharaoh mentioned in the bible, another fact supporting this is that he was in his fifties (50) when he began his two year rule.
